Obituary of Joyce L. Turner

Joyce L. Turner, 79, of Duxbury, passed away on May 12, 2024. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Francis Turner. Joyce was born in 1944 to her parents, the late Lloyd and Dorothea Moore. She is also survived by her daughter Shelley Thomas and her husband William Thomas as well as her grandson Kyle Turner. She also leaves behind her sister Barbara Turner and was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Turner and her brother Dick Moore. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. 

Joyce was a lifelong resident of Duxbury. She and her husband Francis were very involved in the AFS program for foreign exchange students. She was also a big supporter of the Special Olympics. She enjoyed gardening and also loved watching her grandson ride horses. She worked at Magic Dragon Child Care in Duxbury for 32 years. She loved working with the children during her years there. Mostly Joyce loved her family. Spending time with the ones she loved was what she loved most. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. 

A funeral service will be held for Joyce on Saturday, June 1st at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 410 Washington St. Duxbury MA, 02332.
