It is good to read what someone has done for others in their lifetime. I recall the Pembroke weekend stays, watching movies, and playing games. Thoughts and prayers to all that David has been a part of.

Dear Dave,
You were my Uncle, but you were so much more than that, you were my Big Brother, and my Best Friend. You were always there when I needed you, except when I broke my leg , I think that you got a little squeamish looking at me in traction with a giant pin going through my leg.
But you really did instill in me important lessons in life at an early age. For example, jumping off the top of Grandma's refrigerator when she wasn't looking! Another thing was your love of sports. We finally got to share and celebrate multiple Championships, even though we were miles apart.
The most important thing you taught me was respect. This lesson stayed with me throughout my life. Thank you !
I will always remember how I looked forward to spending time with you, whether it was Sunday dinner at Grandma's or staying up late watching the Bruins on channel 38. Those were good times!
And as we both grew older and I moved away you were still there for me, from my wedding, to my daughter's wedding. I could always count on you.
The visits may have gotten farther apart but you were always just a phone call away.
As I am writing this with tears in my eyes, they are not tears of sadness, but tears of joy for having spent a lifetime knowing you. You have helped make me the man, father, and grandfather I am today.
I miss you and love you.
Please give everyone a big hug and kiss when you see them from me.
Love you always,
Your Little Brother Joe

Papa dave and Gram were really a staple to my childhood. He was always welcoming myself and my brother over, would always make sure we were fed or stayed busy in the summertime. Not once did i see a frown on his face. And to this day i always watch how much salt i put on my food because Gram heckled him about his every meal. They always took care of me, and he will always be in my heart. I hope to be half the man he taught me to be. I love all of you guys. -Seamus McManus
