Grandma Doris had a sense of humor like a no other. she always made me laugh! On a visit to Boston when I was 10 she gave me a blue hairbrush. 42 years later and I still use it, even though there is less to brush now days. I remember her bird, and the thousands of jokes she would send once she learned about email. On my last visit I remember how she rolled her eyes when Lou went downstairs and came back up with a bottle while we sat at the kitchen table telling stories! Always loved both of them so much…. She was such a good Mom, growing up we had no idea how much she struggled to feed and clothe us. She never complained and we were brought up in our younger years free to be the children that we were. Then along came Lou, who took us all in and took care of us and Mom. We were blessed.
So thank you Mom, and Lou, for all that you did for us! May you rest in the love of Jesus!
Our prayers are with the whole family, I will always have the most beautiful memories of Dot ! Our families go back a long way from Dorchester to ending up living in the same small town area on the south shore! When my Mom went through very hard times with 5 kids Doris was always there for us , she fed us cared for us when we were hungry and poor & made sure we never went without.Thank you Dot for everything you’ve ever done for my Mom “Eileen” and for me in our times of need . Dear Ma Susie I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. I looked at her picture she is as beautiful as you. You were a caregiver to her as your sister & was blessed to have you two. I’ve kept your family in my prayers since since she was sick & now during this grieving time of your family. Thank you for excepting me into your family as one of your own as I feel the same of your family. I will always cherish my memories of Grandma. Some of my favorites include playing Yahtzee with her & the bird at the kitchen table, her helping me with math homework, and watching soap operas with her after school. And of course, her amazing cooking! I love you, Grandma!
