Our condolences to the Smit family:
My Uncle Neil has always been an inspiring family leader, a king of righteousness. When we were young, he and Aunt Kay opened their home, shared their children, and gave us care and comfort whenever we visited from where we lived, which was in a different country about every two years. The house he built in Connecticut with an American flag aloft in front and the acreage the family tended became a consistent home for our family to enjoy and grow in strength during our summer visits with our cousins. Uncle Neil's foundation was where we learned how to ride a horse, drive a pickup, harvest vegetables, mend a fence and sail a boat. His guidance for us enriched and awed anyone we shared our summer stories with.
