Obituary of Richard Thayer Locke

Richard Thayer Locke 90, formally of Duxbury and Sagamore Beach passed peacefully at the Newfield House in Plymouth on July 25th. He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 65 years Cynthia.

Richard was the son of Margery Thayer Locke and Richard Brewster Locke. He was preceded by his brother Russell in 1980. Richard was born in Boston and was raised in Needham before moving to Duxbury in 1965. After business school, Richard was a banker with South Shore National bank and State Street bank. He spent many years on Duxbury Beach before buying a summer home and hosting gatherings with his many friends in Sagamore Beach.
Richard was preceded by his son John. He leaves behind his sons Peter and his wife Debby of Quincy. Andrew and his wife Traci of Concord North Carolina. William and his wife Janice of Sagamore Beach. And his Daughter Sarah Locke Mountin and her husband David of Ithaca New York.
Richard also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Amy and James. Christopher, Jennifer and Tyler. And great granddaughter Meagan.

Services will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St in Kingston on Thursday August 1st at 12 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cranberry Area Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
