                                               Barbara Schneiderhan Langdon

Barbara passed way peacefully on Wednesday, February 27 at the Inn at Silver Lake.

Barbara Jean McKenzie was born in Quincy, Ma. on August 7,1925. Her sister Ann Melin of Eureka, CA survives her. Her brother Robert McKenzie and her sister Mildred Miller predeceased her. Barbara attended the Woodward School for girls graduating in 1943. A short time later at the age of 19, she married Albert G. Schneiderhan.They moved to Weymouth and raised a family of 4 children. 

She was predeceased by Albert Paul Schneiderhan (2018) and Elizabeth Lyons (2005) Her daughter Carol Sommer lives in Bristol, CT. Her son William Schneiderhan lives in Duxbury, MA. Barbara was a Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed bowling.  As her children grew older she took a job in sales at Jordan Marsh. Her husband Albert passed in March of 1978. Barbara started a new phase of her life when she married Edward Langdon in 1985.They moved to Halifax where she started golfing. She volunteered at the Halifax Council on Aging and was a Eucharistic Minister for Our Lady of the Lake. Edward passed in March of 2006. Barbara moved to the Inn at Silver Lake in December of 2011.

She instantly became involved in all activities and formed a wonderful group of friends. She enjoyed her many visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was well taken care of until her passing on February 27.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 5th at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church in Duxbury. Graveside services will follow at St  Paul’s cemetery in Hingham.
