Raymond Charles Kelley Jr, 94 born in Milton, formally of Kingston and Pembroke, passed away on June 30th in Plymouth.

Born and raised in Milton, the son of the late Beatrice (Hale) and Raymond C Kelley, Sr graduated from Milton High School and Nichols College.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and after his honorable discharge worked along side his dad and brother Wendell at Kelley’s Garage, Inc, the Nash Rambler dealership in Milton.

Ray was an avid gardener but was best known for midget racing.  He was a midget racing legend in NEMA, the Northeastern Midget Association as a championship owner, builder/mechanic, tire expert and mentor to others.

Predeceased by his loving wife Myrtle (Bobbe) and his younger brother Wen, he is survived by his four daughters:  Noel Ochs and Christine Schad of Florida, Wendy Davis and her husband Charles of Rhode Island, and Leanna Russell and her husband Sidney of Plymouth. He was the cherished grandfather of seven, and the beloved great grandfather of eight.  He was also the devoted brother-in-law to Mary Kelley of New Hampshire and uncle to Elizabeth (Betsy) Kelley of Wisconsin and nephew Wendell Jr (Sam) Kelley of Vermont.

Visitation will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main St.  Kingston on Thursday, July 5th from 5-7.  A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Pembroke at 11:00 on Friday, July 6th.

Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels through Old Colony Elder Services or Hospice Services Massachusetts-Wareham.
