I have wonderful memories of Ray. I worked summers at Kelley's and was very grateful that the Kelleys would take me to many midget races all over New England even though I was too young to contribute much to the effort. I very fondly remember Ray doing the engineering to adapt a Rambler rear end into my 1932 Ford. And I remember many evenings at the garage when some of Ray's many friends would come by to share each other's company. And I was happy to return all the kindness when Ray asked me to work at Kelley's in order to keep it open the day of his father's funeral. I last saw Ray at my own father's funeral 22 years ago. My condolences to his family.
Sincerely,
Bill McCaffrey

I have very fond memories of Ray. I started working at the garage in 1955. Kelleys Garage was my home away from home. I always felt that Ray took me under his wing and tried to mentor me. I spent a lot of time going to Midget Races. I do not think that he ever thought that he would live to be 94 years old.
Kelleys Garage in Milton is now a StarBucks and an office building. It is not the same. When I park in the lot, I still think of parking cars in the lot at Kelley's Garage because the concrete wall is still there that was the wall of the garage.
My thoughts are with you during this time.
Very sincerely, Joe Murphy
