Obituary of Richard S. Sparrow
Richard (Rick) Stanley Sparrow Jr, of Plymouth, formerly of Duxbury, Norwell, and Marshfield, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2018. He was 73 years old. Rick was born in Belmont, MA to the late Richard and Virginia (Garland) Sparrow on February 14, 1945. Rick was the dear father of Richard S. Sparrow III of Pembroke and Damon C. Sparrow and his wife Denise of Duxbury, and treasured grandfather of Brodie and Lily Sparrow. Rick attended Lexington High School and later graduated from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH. He attended Syracuse University and received his Bachelor degree in Business Management in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart Ellin (Sullivan) Sparrow of Lexington and together they raised their sons Rick and Damon in Marshfield and Norwell. He had a successful business career primarily managing the family’s sheet metal fabrication business Peerless Pressed Metal. In his later business years he continued as a successful salesman selling large sheet metal fabrication equipment. Rick enjoyed all sports but excelled in baseball and hockey, playing the later well into his 40’s. His true passion was golf and golf attire, and he was a long time member of Marshfield Country Club and later enjoyed the many courses around Plymouth. Other interests and hobbies included watching his grandkids sporting and school events, skiing, family pets, gardening, the beach, vacations and an occasional wager with his weekly golf group.
In addition to his immediate family he is survived by his brother Rodney Sparrow of Acton, his sister Ginger Scott and husband Bruce of West Barnstable, his former wife, Ellin (Sullivan) Sparrow of Marstons Mills, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was a caring and loving man and made a large impact on the many close friends that he spent time with through the years and most recently on the Plymouth waterfront. He will truly be missed by all of his family and friends.

Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, May 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, (Rt. 106) Kingston.
