To the Sparrow Family,
I'm very sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I knew him in the early 1970's. I thought you might like to hear about this time.
Rick was a shift supervisor at Continental Can in Passaic, NJ. I worked there, too.
My wife and I lived in Scarsdale, NY. He and Ellin lived in Greenwich, CT. We'd commute together to NJ.
He was very hard working. He was always soft spoken despite a rough business environment. He focused intensely on the job and on doing his best. He bravely wore a tan cashmere coat in the world's most greasy factory.
Once in awhile we'd stop at Barney's Men's Store in Manhattan. A salesman named Manny Feldman would mark down the merchandise price tags and sell us clothes at reduced cost. He bought a fitted Navy blazer.
He had a Porsche 912. I was privileged to commute some days in it. He had its performance enhanced at a Paterson, NJ shop.
I saw him once years later. I went to Dartmouth for an event - he also happened to be there and we recognized each other.
He displayed character and integrity. He was very likeable. I was privileged to know him.
He mentioned Chatham sometimes. We're thinking of a visit to Cape Cod. I thought of him because of this.
My wife and I live in Arizona. We visited Plymouth MA earlier this year for the first time.
Sincerely,
Steve Breckley

Dear "2nd" cousins, Rod and Ginger.
My brothers, Janet and I are so sorry for the sudden loss of your brother, Rick, and I send my apologies that I will be unable to be with you on Wednesday. My condolences to all your Sparrow family members.
I hope we can get together at Janet's (she has the pug puppies & party house) sometime this summer and catch up on all the family happenings.
BIG HUGS!
Love,
Terri

My heart is broken. My best friend you are gone. I am trying to stay strong I can hear you call me a brat and tell me its gonna work out. I miss your voice, I miss your laugh. How am I going to say good bye to the only one I trusted. You were the best friend and surrougent parent I needed. I am thankful every day that I had you here in January to meet the man of my dreams and see the good life I finally have. I will forever cherish every dinner, every breakfast, and every talk, drink, and tear we shared. To Ricky and Damon you know how I feel about both of you and I will always be here. Thank you for everything Capt Jack Sparrow!! You will and will always be my friend. See you soon my friend. I love you and miss you more than you could ever imagine.
