In Memory of my Grandfather
Where did you go?
O hero and idol
He who put others before himself
And always believed that truth
Should prevail
One who protected those in need
Loved and cared for his family,
And stood fast when faced by adversity
You will never be forgotten,
Never will I lose
Memories of fishing, playing with army guys,
And how you were always there when I needed you
O Veteran and gentleman
Have you moved on?
Or are you still here,
Watching over us,
As you always did?

It is with my deepest sympathies to all of Chuck's family, and especially to you Rachel. Chuck was one of the true gentlemen I had the pleasure of working with. I deeply regret his passing - too soon. But I know he had a very troubled heart condition, with complications (we used to compare notes, and Chuck always topped me on the seriousness of his illnesses.) I made a promise to you Rachel late in my career at Parsons that I would not ask Chuck to travel. Chuck, of couse, would never say he couldn't just hop on a plane and come to where ever we needed him (and his genius meant we needed him a lot!). But towards the end, we were able to get him to "just do it from home", and that made me feel at least a little that I honored my commitment to you, Rachel.
A great, great man, and he will truly be missed by all.
Best wished to all in Chuck's family.

My deepest sympathy to Rachael and all of Charlie's family. Charlie was a great guy and a close friend to my brother George. They went to school together and have remained friends since their school days together. Roland, Charie and George, the three musketeers. Will always remember what a great guy he was and wish peace to his wife and family in this saddest of times.

Dear Rachel: You don't know me, but I attended junior and senior high with Charlie (and Roland Saulnier and George Goodfellow). I'm so very sorry to learn of his death. I saw Charlie last year at our 45th high school reunion and he was very much himself, looking healthy and robust; I didn't know he had a heart problem. He is the second death in three days, Class of '64. Too young to die, but there's nothing we can do when a loved one is called home. I know that Charlie is fine...it's his family who need help and prayers in adjusting to the void his death leaves. My sympathy to you and your family.

Oh, Rachel, I am so sorry for your loss. Chuck was a wonderful man, and you were a lovely couple. When I worked with him at the '90 census and each time I bumped into the two of you out and about, he always left me feeling how lucky you were to have one another. Please accept my heart-felt sympathy and my hope that your memories of him will give you some measure of comfort. love, Roberta

For the Isherwood family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have know Mr. Isherwood for several years since that first fundraiser for Our Lady of Lourdes Church that we worked together on. He was always smiling and fun to be around. I also know him thru my job at CVS in the pharmacy and realize he has been sick for a while. I pray for him to be at peace and for you, his family to have the love and support of family and friends at this difficut time.
