Dear Barbara and family, There are few people in this world I would call 'A Darling', but those are the words which I always felt when thinking about or working with Wally. What a great man, a dedicated worker, loved First Parish, history, the Fire Department. He made work seem like a sacrament..... I will miss you very much dear darling Wally, and all my love to you Barbara and the family, love, Bonnie Devlin

Our deepest sympathy to the Holmes family. Mr. Holmes was a great help to Walter and the Historical Commission when they were researching the Historic District and the Unitarian Church. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Kingston has lost a treasure.
