I came to know Sr. Nivard through her love and devotion to you, Barbara, as well as with all of the sisters, including your own sister Delores. My mother knew many of the sisters through her work as a hairdresser, and then as a volunteer at Scared Heart while I attended there. Her grace and her devotion to her children, through the love of music and arts, her vision for excellence, and her care for others, was greatly appreciated. We briefly spoke at our 25th reunion in June of this year. While I did not know the severity of her illness, I could tell she was still gracious and caring and enjoyed seeing us all. She will be deeply missed by the entire Sacred Heart and Divine Providence community.

Dear Barbara, Sisters of Divine Providence, Friends,
Ed and I have so many memories of our time at Sacred Heart High School, especially working with Sr. Nivard. Her vision for the school in the early 80's with the Student Activity Center and then later with the Flaherty Library, and so many other enhancements to the school will be enjoyed by so many -- students, faculty, parents, alums --far into the future.
You will be missed, Sr. Nivard. Peace.
