Jean Winslow (Currier) Souza, 89, of Halifax, died June 22 at Colony House in Abington, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Auburn, MA on Feb. 29, 1920 and she graduated from Whitman High School. Besides Halifax, she resided many years in Hanson and resided in Zepherhills, FL for nine years before returning to MA. She retired from the D.B. Gurney Co. in Whitman. Jean enjoyed camping, traveling, and was an avid reader. She was the beloved wife of Manuel Souza. Devoted mother of Marcia Brine of Pembroke, Linda Quinton of Hamilton, OH, Ruthanne Allan of Oxford, GA, David Currier of Plympton, Richard Currier of Halifax, and the late Carol Glebus. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Visiting hours from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St., Pembroke Center, on Wed. June 24 from 4-7PM, with a service following the visiting hours at 7:00PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
