Thomas A. Powers of Kingston, formally Plymouth and Quincy died at his home after a long illness at the age of 66. He was the husband of Paula (Kelly) Powers of Kingston. Father of Steven J. Powers and his wife Melissa of Plymouth, Stacia Cote’ and her husband Craig of Kingston and Joseph D. Powers of Plymouth. Brother of Leo Powers of Federal Way, Washington and the late Eleanor Williams. Four beautiful Grandchildren Vienne Cote’, Brielle Cote’, Helena Powers and Thomas Powers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Thomas was born in Boston, and raised in Quincy, he lived in Plymouth for over 30 years before moving to Kingston. He was a 5th. Grade school teacher at the Indian Brook School in Plymouth for 30 years, and prior to he was the Vice Principal at South Elementary in Plymouth .He also taught in Quincy and Duxbury. Thomas was a member of the Army Reserve. He enjoyed walking and weightlifting and was a Black Belt in Karate, in which he taught for 25 years. Calling Hours will be held on Mon. Feb 4, 2008 from 4-8pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main St (RT106) Kingston. Family and Friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Tues. Feb 5, 2008 at 9am followed by a mass at St Joseph’s Church in Kingston at 10am. Burial will be private. Donations can be made to: "NINDS" with a letter stating that the money is to be used to support the mission of the NINDS.
