Dear Powers family, I am the teacher that shared a classrroom with Tom back in the early '70s when we were on double sessions at Nathaniel Morton. I clearly remember Tom telling mr all he needed was a small area for his things and I could have All the bulletins boards. I was fresh out of college and that was fine with me. He was so pleasent and we were great "roomies." On the last day, before he was to "move out" when the new schools were finally ready, he brought me flowers. I know your family must have wonderful memories of him, so I thought I would add mine. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Margaret Shea

Tom was a strong and positive influence on my family and I always will remember him. I recall being a kid in South when he worked there, the many times seeing him walking at a great clip down Long Pond Road, training in his basement and then with him in Taunton, or stopping by the house on visits back to Plymouth. He will be greatly missed by all who knew this great, sweet man. My condolences to the Powers family.

I want you to know that I have always kept Mr. Powers in my heart. He is one of the most influential people in my life. He taught me discipline and the meaning of hard work through his Karate teachings. I was able to use these lessons to create a successful life for myself and I owe so much to my grade school mentor, my Sensei, and my very, very good friend Tom Powers.
With my deepest sympathies,
Mark Poitras

HI Paula,
George and I were so saddened to see that Tom had passed. It was so difficult knowing he suffered for so long with this illness. I remain grateful to him for befriending me during my first year at Nathaniel Morton. We had such fun and he helped me so. What a great guy! I also enjoyed working with Joey. Please tell him that I will keep him in prayer too.
God bless you for the care and love you gave to him through all of this.
George is going in for double knee replacements so we are not able to attend and pay our respects tonight. I will offer my Sunday mass for you and the "Kids." He will be fondly remembered and missed.
God bless!
Marianne & George Baird
