Kevin Joseph Sweeney Sr, 26, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at his home in Carver, MA. He is the son of Marsha (Elwell) Blanchard of Carver and E. Joseph Sweeney of Halifax. He leaves behind a son Kevin Joseph Sweeney Jr of Halifax. He is the grandson of Earl J. Sweeney of Quincy and Lyn Howard and the late Jack Howard of Pembroke . He is also survived by his sister Dolena Sweeney of Georgia. He leaves behind Uncles Richard Elwell of NC, Glenn Elwell and wife Alice of Middleboro, Todd Elwell and wife Cheryl of Halifax, Thomas Sweeney of Hanover. He leaves behind his Aunts, Lorrie Elwell of Plymouth, Valorie Nguyen and husband Chout of Pembroke. His cousins Richard V. Elwell of NC, Joanne M. Elwell of Middleboro, John R. Elwell of Quincy and Lilly R. Elwell of Middleboro. At a young age, Kevin began riding dirt bikes, which lead him to extensive knowledge of many different wooded areas on the South Shore. From that knowledge, he took his dog Brody of Kingston on long hikes through the woods, which was both there serenity. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, participating in Charity runs, shooting his guns and dining out with friends and restoring his late friend John Phelan's Mustang. He will be sadly missed by all he touched. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. Pembroke MA, on Saturday, January 17, from 12:00 to 4:00PM In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made for his son, Kevin J. Sweeney Jr to Rockland Trust Co. A celebration of Kevin's life will be hosted by the family at the Hanson AA, 171 Reed St. Hanson, MA beginning at 6PM.
