Obituary of Betsy S. Oehme

Betsy S. (Drew) Oehme, 93, passed away on September 29, 2014. She was the loving wife of the late Heinz Oehme. She was also survived by her children, Nancy Carafoli and her husband Skip, Kurt and his wife Marsha and sons Ralph and Seth. She was the sister of Robert Drew and Cynthia Sampson. She was the loving grand mother to Curt and Chuck Carafoli and Rachael, Douglas, Geoffrey and Aja Oehme. She has 8 great grandchildren. Her niece Betsy Sampson-Day and many other nieces and nephews, and her very close cousin Elizabeth (Parker) Forman. Betsy graduated with the class of 1938 from Plymouth High School, where she was the recipient of the Plymouth High School Athletic Award, for scoring over 1200 points. She was employed at The Plimouth Plantation for over 30 years. She was the great grand daughter of J.J Shepherd, the founder of J.J Shepherd Funeral Homes. She was a member of many clubs such as, the Plymouth Yacht Club, Plymouth Antiquarian Club, the Pilgrim Society, the D.A.R Daughters of American Revolution, Black and White Club, MA Society of Mayflower Descendants, Plymouth Garden Club and the Elder William Brewster society. A Memorial service will be held at the Chiltonville Congregational Church on Sunday Oct 5,2014 at 2pm located at 6 River ST, Plymouth MA. Donations may be made in Betsy's name to the charity of your choice.
