Obituary of John R. Nickerson

John R. Nickerson, 59, of Duxbury, died March 31 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Beloved husband of Terri (Azer) Nickerson. Loving father of Jamie Nickerson of New York City, and Lauren Behm and her husband Ilan of Sharon. Devoted son of Robert Nickerson and the late Frances Nickerson. Grandfather of Mia Behm. Brother of Kathleen Buckner of Reading, and the late Robert Nickerson, and the late Charles Nickerson. He is also survived by his sister in law Elaine Nickerson of Westford and niece and nephews Steven Nickerson, Elizabeth Nickerson, Michael Nickerson, as well as many other close family members.
John was an avid fisherman who told hilarious stories and had a zest for life.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday April 7 at First Parish Church, 842 Tremont St., Duxbury, MA at 1:00PM. Memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or National Brain Tumor Society, 124 Watertown St., Suite 2D, Watertown, MA 02472.
