Mr. Nick was my eighth grade science teacher, and the reason I will always remember the atomic number of oxygen (it's 8!). He was a good teacher, a good guy, and always well-liked. He will be remembered fondly by 23 years of students! My prayers and condolences to the Nickerson family in your time of loss. Rest in peace, Mr. Nick <3

I worked at Nichols Middle School on the Comet Team, with Bill for several years before he retired. We used to get together with the old team (from that time period) and eat dinner together. Bill was a very interesting and unique person. I always enjoyed talking with him about his projects and his viewpoints on issues. I am so sorry that he has passed. Every time I see America's funniest home videos on TV I think of him. He used to bring in his videos to show on days when we had time, after showing a feature movie. I shall miss him. I am so sorry for your loss.
My deepest sympathy,
Bonnie Hudson

So very sad to hear a great man and former teacher is no longer with us. Mr. Nickerson brought a fun outlook and gave his time and energy to all of us in science classes, and was well remembered for getting us all to and back from WDW safely! May his next journey be as rewarding as the ones he shared with his students.

"Mr. Nick" was my science teacher in 1983 and my husband's in 1984. We remember him fondly. Whenever we talk about the good times his name always comes up. He possessed a special talent of making the material interesting and bringing out the scholar in every pupil. Our prayers and condolences go out to all of his friends and family.

I had Mr. Nick for 8th grade science class. I enjoyed having him as a teacher and I spoke with him on a few occasions over the phone after he retired. He also came to visit me when I was in rehab after my surgery in 2006. He brought me cookies and I happily showed him around the facility. I will always remember him for his smile amd his semse of humor.
I thought of him not too long ago. How sad I was to hear this news today. Please know that Mr. Nick is in my heart and in my prayers. I will also pray for all of those who love him. May God be with you all.

My brother and I both had "Mr. Nick" for science in the 8th grade. My brother Dave was also fortunate enough to be part of one of his cross-country trips. I know that he was always very grateful for that opportunity, and went back to visit Mr. Nick many years after he graduated high school. He had a great impact on many young lives, and will be sorely missed by the Middleboro community. I am so very sorry for your loss.
With sympathy,
Rachel Hazard

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Nick. He was my science teacher in Junior High and always was so very kind to all of us. More recently, my husband observed him in class to forward his teaching career and he still had the same kindness and generosity that I found him to have years before. God be with Mr. Nickerson and his entire family. He will not be forgotten.
