Albert William Kjellerstedt, 77 of Duxbury, MA, died peacefully Nov. 25, at his home after being diagnosed with cancer two years earlier. Albert was born in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Herbert and Sarah Kjellerstedt.Al was a graduate of Torrington High School, the University of Connecticut, and Bridgewater State University where he earned an M.A. in Secondary Guidance and Administration. He worked at East Bridgewater High School as an English Teacher, Counselor, and Principal for 38 years. Albert was a life-long member of Seneca Lodge No. 55.A.F.& A.M. of Torrington, CT. He served as an officer in the US Army Reserve. He was a member of the East Bridgewater Teachers Association, the Plymouth County Teachers Association, the MTA and the NEA. Al enjoyed writing, reading, gardening, cooking, golfing, hiking, and traveling to Montana to visit his family. Albert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pamela Kjellerstedt of Duxbury; daughter Nancy (Kjellerstedt) Peterson and her husband Dennis of Helena, Montana; grandchildren, Ethan and Holly Peterson of Helena; sisters Martha Lent of Yarmouthport and Amelia (Millie) Waldron of Torrington; nieces and nephews, Cynthia Van Loan, David Lent, Jr., Drake Waldron, Barbara Hoffman, Bradford Lent, Colton Waldron, David Stickels, Dana Stickels and many other dear family and friends. He was also the uncle of the late Debbie Hagenian of Florida. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Albert will be held Friday Nov. 30 at 1:00PM at Pilgrim Church of Duxbury, 404 Washington St., Duxbury, MA.
