Obituary of Eleanor A. Taylor
Eleanor (Ellie) Ann (Glass) Taylor, age 88, of Kingston, Massachusetts, beloved wife, and best friend of Kenneth Taylor for 56 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones she loved and lived for, on Tuesday January 22, 2025.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth Taylor her brothers William Glass, Lawrence Glass, and her parents, Ann and Parker Glass.Eleanor was born in Boston and spent her early days in Dorchester, but the majority of her life was spent on the South Shore of Massachusetts which she always considered home. Above all Eleanor valued her family and was happiest when she was together with the Glass and Taylor clans surrounded by everyone she loved.
Upon their retirement, Ken and Eleanor moved to The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida. She had many friends, enjoyed golf, spending time with the lady’s golf league the quilting club and overall living the good life and not being cold in the winter. Eleanor graduated from high school at Kingston High School. Beyond being an amazing, Wife, Mom, Sister, Auntie and Mimi she had many jobs through the years including the Plymouth County Registry of Deeds, Buttners Department Store,and many years as a visiting nurse for Plymouth County. She cherished helping others that were unable to leave their home for care.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Joanne Egnor (Glass), Alice Sunnerberg (Glass); her son, Gregory Raymond Taylor of North Attleboro; and daughter, Heather Ann Fontana of Shrewsbury; her grandchildren, Meagan, Lindsey, Julia and Adam. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews,and other relatives and friends.
Her family thanks God for the gift of her life and the blessing she was to all who knew or spent time withher. Visiting hours will be at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Monday, January 27th, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston 11:00 AM. Following the Mass the internment service will take place at Evergreen cemetery, 21 Green St., Kingston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, www.alz.org.
