Obituary of Sandra M. Combs

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

PLYMOUTH, Sandra Mahar Combs, 84, passed away peacefully at Life Care Center Plymouth, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Sandra was born to Caroline Mahar and William Nicholson on October 3,1940 in St Louis, MO and was a 1958 graduate of Norwell High School. She was one of three children; including one late sister Shirly Paramore of TX, and is survived by her sister Terry Mott and her husband Craig of FL. Sandra was an accomplished dancer and founder/co-owner of the Carver Dance Center where she taught all forms of dance, inspiring thousands of young dancers throughout the years. As a valued lifetime member of the Hingham Civic Music Theatre, Inc, Sandra performed in countless productions. She was also a long-time dance instructor at Plymouth Fitness Club.

Sandra was the beloved wife to Robert “Bob” Combs, the love of her life and husband of 61 years. She also was an incredibly devoted mother to her three children, Bernardine V. Combs of Carver, MA, Tina Combs-Fabrizio of Rochester, MA (and her late husband John), and Monty Combs and his wife Jan of Norton, MA. Sandra loved spending time with her many grandchildren Brian DeAngelo (deceased) and Cory Combs (deceased), Nicholas Combs and his wife Erica of New Albany, IN, Tiara Myette and her husband Steve of Rochester, MA, Brianna Fabrizio of Hyannis, MA, Michael Fabrizio of Rochester, MA, Benjamin Combs of Denver, CO, and Lucas Combs and Lily Combs of Norton, MA. She was also blessed with many great grandchildren, Kylee, Killian, Rozalind, Vivien, Bryson and Hatch.

Sandra was a deeply dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family and friends were at the center of her being - she lived for family time, special events, and cherished spending time with her wide circle of friends. Teaching dance and engaging in anything theatre or music was central in her life. Sandra was known for her holiday spirit and glitzy attire…dressing with flare, fancy hats, and beaded fringe shirts. Sandra always had a sparkle in her eye and was a deeply caring, kind, and generous woman who touched the lives of many. Her vivacious spirit, kindness and enthusiasm will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and by all she knew.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 12 noon at Little West Pond Functions, 199 Federal Furnace Road, Plymouth. Please rsvp to montgomerycombs@gmail.com if planning on attending by April 12th, as space is limited.
