Peter Raymond Allaire passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024 at BayPath Nursing Home in Duxbury, Massachusetts after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Nancy Andrews Allaire and their children, Scott Allaire of Orleans MA, Matthew and daughter-in-law Amber Allaire of Duxbury MA and Kristen Allaire of Sherborn MA, as well as grandchildren, Sarah Allaire, and Benjamin and Lila Susco. He was sadly predeceased by his grandson Mason Allaire in 2023. He is also survived by his sister Jane McCarthy and her husband Richard of Bristol, CT and his brother David Allaire, and his wife Patricia also of Bristol, CT and his sister-in-law Beth Seminatore of Concord, MA along with many nieces and nephews.

Peter was born in Bristol Connecticut and was the son of the late Estelle and Raymond Allaire.  He graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in business and went on to eventually start his own manufacturers representative business in Massachusetts. Peter and Nancy met in 1969 at the Old Vienna Hofbrau in Brookline Massachusetts and were married in New York City the same year. They had a small reception at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. They spent their honeymoon in New Hampshire, but it was so cold that they decided at the last minute to go back to Boston to see old friends.  A key ingredient to their long marriage besides their wonderful family were their wonderful friends, you know who you are!

Peter was known to be on the quiet side but had a very dry sense of humor that would shine through at the best of times. He enjoyed being on his boat, hitting golf balls, and skiing with family and friends.  Above all, he and his wife Nancy loved to dance, which they handed down to all their children and grandchildren. Peter particularly liked dancing on tables!  He will continue dancing on tables wherever he is with a dry martini in one hand and cigar in the other. 

There will be a private service at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mason Allaire Scholarship Fund. Donations will help a Duxbury High School graduate to continue their education.
