Lawrence F. Gardner, 98, of Carver, passed away on December 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Gardner, his son Thomas Gardner, his brother Kenneth Garnder and sister Florence Omar. Lawrence is survived by his long time companion Betty Schmidt. Lawrence grew up in Weymouth, MA with his parents, the late George and Florence Gardner. He is survived by his son Robert Gardner and his wife Janet Gardner. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christa Pierce, Eric Gardner and Scott Gardner. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Briana Pierce, Christopher Pierce and Brenna Gardner. He is also the uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

Lawrence worked at the Fore River Ship Yard for many years. He was often told that he could outwork anyone on the job. He was also the foreman for Underground gas tank installations. He was drafted into the U.S Army at the age of 18 and served in Austria in 1945. Lawrence played semi pro football for three years. He also built and drove race cars.

 He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 29th at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Carver from 12:00 to 4:00PM.
