Obituary of Cynthia Robson Lamarche
Cynthia Robson Lamarche passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on August 13, 1945 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to Eloise and Robert Diemar, Sr. After high school, she attended college in Boston, graduating from Garland Junior College, now part of Simmons University. After college, Cynthia worked in the fashion industry for several years before taking time for a three-month trip to Europe. When she returned to Boston, she went to work for Teradyne, Inc., where she met her future husband, George Robson.
Cynthia and George married in 1972 and two years later moved to Duxbury where
they bought and meticulously restored an antique Cape on Washington Street. In
the following years, their daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth, were born. Cynthia’s
daughters were the light of her life. She was always very proud of their
independence, creativity, and career successes.
In 1984, the Robson family accepted an offer from Teradyne to move to Tokyo for
a two-year assignment which was an adventure for the whole family! On their
return from Japan to Duxbury and to their special antique Cape, Cynthia and her
close friend Connie Gallison started their interior decorating business, Gallison and
Robson. For the next twenty-five years, they decorated many houses in Duxbury,
the South Shore, and the Boston area.
In 2021, Cynthia married Morgan Lamarche and they shared three joyful years
of marriage. When Cynthia faced serious health challenges, Morgan lovingly cared for her through many months of difficult treatments. Cynthia also had the care and assistance of her dear friend Poppy Sprosty Soufan.
Cynthia leaves behind her loving husband Morgan and her daughters Sarah, of
Sonoma, CA, and Elizabeth, of Boston, her stepson Gregory and his wife Mikaela
of New York City and Lyme, CT, her former husband, George Robson of
Plymouth, MA, her sister-in-law, Eleanor Diemar of Bedminster, NJ, her step
sister-in-law, Claire Hansen and her husband, Jack, of Flemington, NJ, and several
nieces and nephews in the US and Scotland. She was pre-deceased by her brother,
Robert Diemar, Jr., and her parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Winer, P.A. Mary Gerard, and all the
nurses of the Leukemia Department at Dana Farber, Boston, for their outstanding
care.
Burial will be private. A celebration of Cynthia’s life will be held at a later date. In
lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dana Farber Leukemia
Department, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215
