Obituary of Jacqueline Lee Moulthrop
Mom
Born July 7, 1938, in Concord, Massachusetts to Lief Edward and Sarah Jeanette (Mackinnon) Stensby. Mom was an only child but her family was a very close knit unit always full of fun and joy. Mom’s cousins were her best friends and she considered them siblings. Throughout life she enjoyed spending time together with our aunts, uncles, and their children. They spent many times celebrating holidays together and especially celebrating April 19th, enjoying the yearly Patriots Day parade.
She worked as a secretary at the Concord-Carlisle high school where she had graduated from. She had enjoyed basketball and field hockey during her school years.
Our mother met my Dad, George Alton Moulthrop and the two were married September 7, 1963. Our father was in the Marines and we lived in New Jersey, Concord, Massachusetts, and South Carolina, staying with my Mom’s parents much of the time. Our mom was so excited when my Dad chose to retire.
Our family now consisted of my parents and us, three children, Carol Jean, Bruce Edward, and Leeanne. We moved to Kingston, Massachusetts. My Mom enjoyed being a housewife and nurturing, teaching, and helping my siblings and I grow into the people we are today. Friends were always important to our Mom. Mom could befriend any and everyone. We could always count on conversation and coffee between herself and her friends that continued through her life. Our family attended Kingston Baptist Church, where my Mom was the church secretary and member of the Builders. Unfortunately my parents divorced. Around this time my mother’s greatest joys in her life were born. Her granddaughters, Alexis Marie and Brianna Lynne, made my Mom so proud. She loved them so much and enjoyed spending time with them. Even this last week of her life she was all smiles and chatty when Alexis or Brianna came. One of my Mom’s favorite trips included a trip to Florida with my brother and his family at Disney. Mom had so much fun seeing the girls expressions and joy. Mom and I also spent time visiting relatives, spending time each year in York Beach, Maine visiting the Nubble lighthouse and the Golden Rod restaurant, where they made salt water taffy on the premises daily.
Mom enjoyed working at Touch of Glass in Plymouth, Massachusetts and Gymboree in Kingston, Massachusetts. She enjoyed going out with the girls to eat. One place was known as Hell’s Blazes, I can’t believe my Mom went there. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and loved going to Loon Mountain village to spend a weekend away with them. Mom and I moved to Carver, Massachusetts and lived in Waterview Village. My Mom was involved with many activities at the park and flourished. Life went on and my brother remarried and my Mom gained a new daughter in law, Christine Marie and grandson, Stephen Frederick Nava. Mom loved their wedding. We joined Plymouth Rock Bible Church and loved all the fellowship and support from all our friends. Mom and I moved to Kingston, Massachusetts to be closer to my brother.
In the later years of her life my Mom loved spending time with our beloved dog, Gizmo and visits from her other grand pups. Watching the horses across the street and spending time with family. She also loved visits from and with friends and our monthly game nights, which were always full of love and laughter and coffee.
Thank you for the precious memories Mom and all your love and support throughout our lives. We will miss you.
