Jay attended Brockton High School and Norwich University. He played tight end for the Brockton High Boxers. On Dec 9, 1960 the Boxers played against the Miami High Stingarees in the Orange Bowl in Florida. After completing his studies, he operated Rourke Oil and Coal in Abington, MA. Through the years, Jay enjoyed sailing the “Lady Bug” for Wild Harbor Yacht Club and his catboat the “Patchy Fog”, skiing at King Ridge (his favorite Brillig’s Run), and running in road races, which turned into a passion for walking for over 40 years. He could be seen on his favorite route in Duxbury most evenings on King Caesar road and over the Duxbury bridge. Many winters he enjoyed skiing and fireside at Red Top, Barnard, VT with family and friends. He was a member of the Duxbury Yacht Club. Jay spent all of his early summers with his large family at New Silver Beach, in North Falmouth, MA. There he made lifelong friends and memories. His heart was always in Naples Florida.
Jay is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hamilton Place Noonan. His children, with whom he had with his deceased wife, Karen Anderson, are Heather, Jay Jr. “Tim” (Sara Nelson), Jared, and granddaughter Stella. Jay’s family grew in his marriage to Bonnie with the addition of her children, all of Duxbury: Stephen Jr. and Cinnie O’Brien and their children, Henry and Brooks; Lauren and Stewart Smith and their children, Linsin Smith, Jack Snow and Tague Smith; Chrystie O’Brien. In Loving Memory
