Joann (Jessop) O’Connor 73 of Middleboro, MA formerly of Halifax, MA passed away on June 29, 2024.

Joann was born on April 27th, 1951, and was raised with her many brothers and sisters in Duxbury, MA.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Jessop and Mae (Card) Jessop-Crawford of Duxbury MA, and Marshfield, MA. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 50 years Mark O’Connor Sr. She is survived by her son Mark  O’Connor Jr. of Middleboro, MA, Brothers and Sisters  John and Kathleen (Duggan) Jessop of Middleboro, MA; Sue (Jessop) Dooley- Curran of Middleboro, MA; Wayne Jessop of Burnsville, NC ; Robert Jessop of  Carver, MA ; Lorraine Jessop of Duxbury, MA and Carol ( Jessop) McCarthy of Smithfield, RI.

Joann is also survived by her loving grandchildren Alison, Katelyn, and Ryan O’Connor of Halifax, MA. as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joann married the love of her life, Mark O’Connor Sr. in 1969 and they enjoyed a lifetime of love and cherished memories together. She enjoyed a close relationship with her son Mark and her brothers and sisters, always looked forward to the time they spent together.  Anyone who knew Joann always had a wonderful story or memory to share about her; her kindness towards others, her humility and gentle nature, as well as her warmth resonated with so many people.

 Joann was an avid sports fan and enjoyed immensely her Boston sports team’s while also being the biggest fan of any youth or collegiate teams that her son, grandchildren or nieces and nephews were involved in. She loved nature and had a great passion for her flowers and garden.

In the past few years Joann, known to her close family as Nana, was able to enjoy quality time watching her grandchildren grow, which meant the world to her as they were truly the light of her life.

A Celebration of Life to honor Joann and the beautiful life she lived will be held at a later date. Her family would like to honor Joann and Mark Sr. in celebration as they lived, together.
