David G. Piper Jr. Obituary

David George Piper Jr., 66, of Carver, MA passed away on March 14th, 2024. He was born on June 21st, 1957, in Winchester, MA. David graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1975. After high school, David joined his father in the family business of residential community development. David was an entrepreneur and would go onto establish several businesses on his own, including Piper Land Development, Piper Forrest Products, and Piper Property Management. Alongside his business accomplishments , David was a commercial ship captain and lobster fisherman.


David is preceded in death by his father David Piper Sr., mother Carol, and brother Mark. He is survived by his sister Cheryl Piper and brother William Piper. He also leaves behind his son David Piper III and his wife Carolyn Littlefield; his nephew Harrison Piper; three grandchildren Garrett Piper, Duke Piper, and Veronica Littlefield; stepson Craig Hannula; and Godson David Bodine.


David had a love for life. As a young man he had a passion for horses, competing in reining and barrel racing events. He was an avid hockey player and talented mechanic. He raced trucks, motorcycles, and boats. David was a friend to everyone. He believed in the importance of supporting his community and served as a volunteer Firefighter and EMT at a young age. He also served as president of the Massachusetts manufacturing housing association  (‘MMHA’) for many years. 


He will be forever missed by his family, friends, and the community. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Carver on Tuesday, March 19th from 4:00 to 7:00PM. A private service will be held thereafter. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests honoring David’s passion and love for animals by supporting your local animal shelter.
