Please share a memory of William P. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William P. Moran, 79, of Duxbury, passed away on December 20, 2023, following a long and hard-fought battle with interstitial lung disease. He is the beloved husband of Connie Moran of 52 years. Bill is also survived by his son, Sean P. Moran and his wife Bridget of Pembroke. Bill is the brother of Anastasia Morley of Co. Mayo, Ireland. He was preceded in death by his other siblings, Marguerite Teahan of Norwood, John Austin Moran of Ireland and Kevin Moran of Ireland. He was the loving grandfather of Maryrose and Liam Moran. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bill was born in Cloonfad, Co. Roscommon, Ireland in 1944 to his parents, the late John and Winifred Moran.  Bill came to the United States in 1964 and soon began working for John Hancock where he would spend the next 51 years beginning in the maintenance department and working his way up to finish his career as a Project Manager of building construction.

Outside of work he enjoyed dancing, and was a proud member of both the Norwood Irish Music Club and the Irish Social Club of Boston. By far his favorite past time was a good project on his own home or anyone else’s.  HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry he was ready for the challenge, especially alongside his best friend Frank Pettorossi.  Most of all Bill was a family man who loved his family and especially adored his two grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew, and loved him.

Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston on Wednesday, December 27th from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Church, Duxbury MA on Thursday, December 28th at 10:00AM. Burial services will directly follow at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bill’s memory to the Pine Street Inn, https://www.pinestreetinn.org/, or any homeless charitable organization.
