Obituary of Joseph P. Camobreco
Joseph Paul Camobreco, 72, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Duxbury, passed away on September 26th at home peacefully with his beloved partner, Lisa Birkdale, by his side.
Joe was born in Westwood, New Jersey to Antoinette and Vito Camobreco on April 22, 1951. He graduated from Burgin Catholic High School in 1969 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Joe was employed by Stone & Webster Engineering Corporationfor over 30 years. Following his time at Stone & Webster, he worked at the Shaw Group and Stantec. He was well respected within the industry and passionate about his work.
He enjoyed music, biking, the beach, golf, furniture making, and home improvement projects. He also enjoyed being a “Poppa” to his 4 grandchildren. Joe and his former wife, Andree Beauchemin, lovingly raised three boys together in Duxbury. Joe was a devoted father and enjoyed many years of coaching his sons and their friends baseball and basketball Duxbury youth sports teams.
Later in life, Joe met Lisa, his loving companion. Together, they built a great life, traveling, going to concerts, and eventually moving into their dream home together in West Yarmouth. As Joe approached retirement, he became ill and was devotedly cared for by Lisa in their home until he passed.
Joe is survived by his son, Luc Camobreco (Quincy), son Adam Camobreco (Duxbury) and wife Megan, his son Ben Camobreco (Braintree) and wife, Anita. His partner, Lisa Birkdale (West Yarmouth), Four grandchildren, Levi, Ray, Colton and Isabella Camobreco. His sister Dede Russo and his nephew, Frankie (NJ). His former wife, and friend, Andree Beauchemin (Hingham), His cousin / “brother” Vinnie Carella and wife Dianne (NY). His niece Kara and nephew Erik (both ME). He is preceded in death by his parents, Antoinette and Vito Camobreco, and his sister Maggie Griffin.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St, Duxbury on Thursday October 5th at 11am. Burial will be private.
Shepherd Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
