Obituary of Russell A Freeman

Russell A Freeman Jr. of Plympton, MA, formerly of Middleborough MA, died peacefully on September 1, 2023 at the Brockton VA, after a courageous battle with cancer.n

He was the son of Russell Alton Freeman and Elizabeth (Guild) Freeman and was a devoted husband to Evelyn Freeman (Healey) of Plympton, Ma. He was the father of 5 children, Wayne Freeman married to Lynne Freeman, Ricky, Kenny (deceased), Colleen, Doreen, and Michelle( deceased and adopted) .  Russell had many grandchildren including Wayne Freeman JR and Kimberly Fowler, as well as many great grandchildren, extended family members and loyal friends.

Russell was born and raised in Middleborough, MA where he grew up on a vegetable farm, and also tended to cows and horses in the surrounding community. He was a proud veteran in the United States Coast Guard. He was a man of many trades.  He worked as a carpenter, a harbormaster, site superintendent, owned a few construction co's and eventually worked as an insulator in his later years before retiring in 2005 Russell loved his friends and family deeply.  He always went out of his way to make sure everyone was taken care of.  Always devising plans to help others.   Most of all he loved his late wife Evelyn. Russell will always be a unique character to all who knew him.      He will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to honor Russell’s life at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston from 8:30 am to 9:30am  on Saturday, September 9, 2023.   A funeral mass will follow at 10 am at St Joseph’s Parish in Kingston .   Interment will directly follow at Center Street Cemetery in Pembroke.
