Obituary of Warren Rushton

Please share a memory of Warren to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Warren Rushton of Kingston, Ma. passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on 6/17/23 surrounded by his four loving daughters.

His soulmate and wife of 70 years Shirley Rushton passed away in his arms just 13 days prior leaving him heart broken. Warren born 7-1-30 leaves behind his four daughters, Bonnie Robbins, Lynda Masson, Debra Ellis, and Penny Endicott. Along with 6 grand daughters Story, Stevenie, Elyse, Colby, Perry, Alanna and his only grandson Dana, he was so proud to finally have a boy! Together they shared 12 great grandchildren.

They all loved their PA deeply and cherished the time he made for each of them sharing traditions such as clamming, tracking, raising and lowering the flag daily, and listening to music withthem at the family cottage. In his later years Pa lead a simple yet genuine life enjoying time with family and friends, working on projects around the cottage, reading the newspaper and sipping on afternoon cocktails on the porch over looking the ocean with Shirley.

Warren was quick witted and always greeted friends old and new with a strong handshake and stiff drink. Manhattans with his crew of friends at Saquish and Godmothers with Shirley were tradition. Celebrating life and cherishing every moment came easy for them.  Warren proudly served as Shirley’s sous chef in the kitchen helping her make her famous salsas and jams. When he would get “a round tuit” Pa was a skilled craftsman, carpenter, and paper hanger.

He will be deeply missed, but we are at peace knowing Ma & Pa are together again.
