Barbara Margaret Solari (McAvoy), 76, long time resident of Pembroke MA, passed away on June 20th in Kingston, MA.

Funeral service will be held at Saint Joseph Parish in Kingston on Tuesday June 27th at 10:00 am with Fr. Jack Graham. Burial will follow at Pembroke Center Cemetery, 45 Oldham St. Visitation will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home Kingston on Monday June 26th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.

Barbara was born in Quincy, MA to George and Barbara McAvoy (Means) on Sept. 13, 1946 . She went to high school at North Quincy and graduated in 1964. She worked at Rockland Trust Company and Kohl’s. She loved being together with family and friends — watching her boys play hockey and football, vacations in Maine, cookouts by the pool, hosting for holidays, caring for her grandchildren.  Her husband David was the love of her life.   

Barbara is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Brian and Rebecca of Westford, Craig and Michele of Kingston, Brad of Quincy, and six beautiful grandchildren: Rachael, Ryan, Leah, Benjamin, David and Gabriella. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Thomas Solari, parents George and Barbara M. McAvoy (Means), and sister Janet Chambers.
