David Coleman Chandler, 76, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on March 1, 2023. Born in Boston, he was the eldest son of the late Florence Woodward Chandler and Warren Lothrop Chandler.

David is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Honor Aves Chandler; four children, David, Robert, Elliot and Carolyn Chandler; his sister, Catherine Chandler; 3 beloved grandchildren; and countless friends and relatives. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Chandler.

David graduated from Marshfield High School in 1965 and began his college education at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1967 where his work ethic served him well as an Aviation Mechanic during two tours in Vietnam. David found his calling in business; he was accepted to Long Island University’s School of Business Administration while still actively serving. David began his career at Irving Trust Company on Wall Street after graduating in 1973. He met his beloved wife, Honor, in 1979 at Bank Leumi on New York City’s Fifth Avenue, where they both worked. Throughout his 30-year career in banking, if David ever interviewed for a job, he was always offered the position. David was a senior level corporate executive with responsibilities in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting.

After retiring from banking, David moved to Plympton, MA where he designed his retirement home from the ground up, chopped wood to his heart’s content, and volunteered for various community organizations. David served as Chairman of the Wage & Personnel Board, was a member of the Community Preservation Committee, and delivered Meals on Wheels. David was also a volunteer fireman while residing in New Jersey.

David was grounded in his faith and was a longtime parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Parish. Please join David’s family in celebrating his life.
