Obituary of Jacqueline Mary Coyne

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacqueline "Jackie" Mary MacInnes Coyne, 74, of Carver, passed away Sunday, January 15th, 2023, unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep, soon after conquering cancer and recently losing her husband of 45 years in November 2021. She was a devoted, loving mother of seven children and a fur baby. She was Nannie to nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons, sister to one, and Auntie to many. Jackie was also called those titles by many community members whose lives she has touched over the years. We are all devastated by the sudden loss and thought we would have many more years with her; she will be greatly missed leaving an unfillable hole in our lives as the center of our family.

Jackie was born October 13th, 1948, in Somerville, MA, to the late Daniel A MacInnes and Bessie J Hutchins Sorum. She was raised in Somerville, and although her family moved to many towns within the South Shore, she Graduated High School from Bridgewater-Raynham. Jackie's compassion and desire to help others is unmatched and will leave a giant gap in the community. Jackie brought her love and devotion to countless children as a foster parent for 15 years. She also worked at the Plymouth DCF office for 20 years, both in the office and as a child mentor in the community. Later, she made the most memorable friends at "Pennys." She also found a new level of compassion, love, and life lessons working alongside Seniors with the Visiting Angels.

Jackie is truly one of life's precious gifts. She is our ever-present rock and sounding board with the most generous heart and infectious presence. She is fiercely independent and always there to pick you up, dust you off, and get you back in the game; her words were encouraging, and her shoulders were strong to bare many burdens. Jackie is a classy, get-things-done kind of lady, always knowing the right time to do things, making them elegant, and getting it done "tootsweet!"  Most will remember her affinity for family, shuttling kids around, sense of duty, love of good music, dancing, feeding the birds, and always doing things correctly and honestly using her strong work ethic and never-quit mentality. Jackie's hobbies include watching every movie under the sun; if you need a recommendation, she's got it! Gaming, such as Zelda, Resident Evil, and Doom, and her love for the tablet, assists in maintaining long-distance family connections. As the most selfless person, Jackie always has someone else at the forefront of her mind. Determining how she could best help people by brightening their day with a little "prize." She loved being a grandmother, spending quality grandchild time, filling her with joy while refilling her youth and creating endless memories. Unforgettable memories include crazy summer cookouts and pool time with the entire family; she was most content when we were all together. Jackie was very charitable, always finding the good in everyone, never giving up on anyone, and providing motherly love and support to those who were lost and searching for their way in life. There was no limit to what Jackie, a.k.a (Mum, Nannie, or Jack), would do for her family and those she loved. Her greatest strength is overcoming obstacles and showing her family unconditional love. As she would say to us, we love you to the moon and back until we meet again. See ya when I see ya!

Jackie is survived by her children: Danielle and Pete Blanchard of Plymouth, MA;  Eran Coyne of Carver, MA;  Kelli and Jeffrey Almeida of Middleboro, MA; Siobhan Coyne and Andrew Dodson of Puyallup, WA;  Chris Coyne of Plymouth, MA; Tom Coyne of Carver, MA; Shellee Coyne and Brandon Bergeron of Carver, MA; fur baby Ruby. Nine grandchildren, Joseph, Ian, Breyden, Madelyn, Jack,  Max, Aubrey, and Kenny, and two great-grandsons, Joey Jr. and Mason. Her nephew Mark and Tracy Horne, their daughter Ava and Great nephew Shawn Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Coyne; her parents, Daniel MacInnes and Bessie Hutchins Sorum; her sister Donna Jean Whowell,  Nephew Shawn Whowell; and grandson, Cooper Almeida.

Services will be Saturday, January 28th at 12:00 at the Central Cemetery in Carver, Ma .
