Aidan Thomas Ramsey

March 17, 2005- December 27, 2022

Aidan Thomas Ramsey died on December 27, 2022.  Born on St. Patrick’s Day, Aidan is the son of Robert and Kimberly Ramsey of Kingston, MA and the beloved older brother of Finnegan.

To know Aidan was truly one of life’s greatest gifts. His selfless nature, infectious smile, and generous heart immediately engaged you. Aidan was known for always making others smile and was a role model to his classmates, fellow band members and teammates. He held a depth and strength of character that was unique for a seventeen-year-old, inclusive and welcoming others to share in the fun. Like his parents and brother, Aidan enjoyed time with family and many friends from the Kingston and Silver Lake communities. Whether on the cross-country course, playing alto saxophone, giving pep talks, working at Kingston Rec or running Instagram accounts, Aidan’s leadership and sarcastic wit were well known.

A member of the Silver Lake High School Class of 2023, Aidan was known to be one of the most dedicated members of the Silver Lake Band, participating in the marching band, wind ensemble, jazz band and percussion ensemble.  He also participated on the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams as the Team Captain, earning the Patriot League Sportsmanship Award for Cross Country.

The Ramsey boys enjoyed a lot of brother time playing PlayStation, listening to Kiss, Rush and other classical rock greats, eating lobster rolls and shooting driveway hoops. Finn looked up to his big brother and always loved being with Aidan and his friends. Family trips to Florida,California, and Nantucket, eating breakfast out, and spending time with his cousins held special memories as well. To say his cousins adored him as the oldest is an understatement. Truly a dynamic foursome, Rob, Kim, Aidan and Finn enjoyed their time together, especially attending live music shows.

In addition to his loving parents and brother and his beloved dog, Maverick, he is also survived by his grandparents, Thomas and Dorothy McCarthy of Sarasota, Florida; his aunt, Katie (Ramsey) Hughes, her husband Frederick and their children Ella and Owen of Kingston, MA;  his uncle, William Ramsey, his wife Adrienne (Fowkes) and their children, Jack, Peter and Abigail of Hingham, MA; his aunt, Sarah (McCarthy) MacLachlan, her husband Chad and their children Brady, Jack and Caroline of Novato, CA; and many other family members that loved him dearly. Aidan is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ellen Ramsey.

Aidan’s visitation and wake will be held on Thursday, January 5th from 4PM to 8PM at St. Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street in Kingston. A funeral Mass for Aidan will be held on Friday, January 6th at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Church. The family kindly invites attendees to wear their favorite jersey or Silver Lake colors to Mass on Friday.

May we walk forward knowing that Aidan’s kindness is inscribed upon our hearts.

Hebrews 12:1 “Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Aidan T. Ramsey Scholarship Fund, 55 North St, Hingham, MA 02043.
