Obituary of Maria McLaughlin

Maria McLaughlin, 100, of Carver, passed away on December 29, 2022. Loving wife of the late Richard McLaughlin. Daughter of the late Antonio and Marie (Guertin) Montagno. Beloved sister to Alma Caron of Carver, and the late Rose Nichols and Rita Peterson. Maria is also survived by several nieces, and nephews, as well as her great and great great nieces and nephews as well as by her extended family and friends..

 

After graduating from Brockton High Marie attended Iride Pilla at the New England Conservatory of Music, Marie performed in many vocal récitals as a soprano soloist. Marie was recognized and labeled as a talented singer with unusual power and range, she also was a soloist for St. Colman's Choir in Brockton and performed at the Boston Conservatory of Music. Marie was proud of her singing talents and each performance she would make her own dresses. She was also a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists. Outside of her love for music, Marie loved Christmas, her Family, nature and all animals. She also loved celebrating any occasion with friends and family.

Shé also was a devoted catholic and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Carver.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (rt. 58) Carver. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 4th at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Carver. Maria will be laid to rest wit her husband Richard at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne.
