Obituary of Marcia Hutchinson

Marcia W Hutchison passed away on November 16, 2022 at the age of 83.  Marcia was born on February 13, 1939 the daughter of Hewitt P and Marcella Wilson, sister of Maryl and Phillip in Caldwell NJ.  She is predeceased by her husband Earl W Hutchinson in January 2015.

Growing up Marcia loved the ocean and spent many summers at the Jersey Shore where she had wonderful memories of swimming in the surf.  There were also other family trips, notably crossing the country by train to the Pacific Northwest with many scenic stops along the way and a summer in Europe. She left NJ to attend Pine Manor Junior College in Wellesley, MA and stayed in Massachusetts, living in Hanover with her own family and husband Earl W Hutchinson until 2014.

Marcia and Hutch enjoyed traveling all over New England and beyond.  They had many adventures to New Hampshire and Vermont visiting Hutch’s family, trips to Maine visiting family and a memorable windjammer vacation cruising the coast.  They also enjoyed trips to Niagara Falls, Cooperstown, NY and Cape Cod among many others.

When Marcia and Hutch weren’t traveling, they were often entertaining friends and family at home.  There were many cookouts and get togethers, both planned and impromptu, with their yearly Labor Day celebrations becoming legendary.  So many good times and memories with stories to be told and retold for years to come.

Marcia also had a close-knit circle of girlfriends, who for 30+ years would get together for their treasured Women’s Weekends.  These ladies would make sure to get away a couple times of year to relax and enjoy good food and conversation together.  Marcia also enjoyed going to the theatre, ballet, and museum trips with her lady friends.

Recently Marica resided at Wingate in Kingston where she was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing circles for her yo-yo quilt, paint classes with the other residents, and winning at BINGO.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Andrew Davis and his wife Kathy of Kingston, daughter Karen Begin and her husband Tom of Sanford, ME along with her grandchildren Danica and Hannah Davis, Tommy Begin and his wife Emily Rose and Emily Elizabeth Begin.  Also, by Hutch’s children Michael Hutchinson of Scituate MA, Stephen Hutchinson or Palm Coast FL, David Hutchison of St. Augustine FL and Lori Hutchinson of Alexandria VA and their families.

A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, November 30^th from 11am – 2pm at Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Red Cross.
