Obituary of George D. Cravenho

George David Cravenho of Kingston, died in Weymouth, on October 31, 2022. Loving husband to the late Elaine Amendolare Cravenho. 
Beloved father to Christine Mascott and her husband Paul Mascott of Mashpee and Richard J. Cravenho, and his wife Michelle Cravenho, Kingston. Cherished grandfather to Leann Cravenho of Kingston. Brother to  John Cravenho of Westport, CT, and Richard Cravenho of Venice, FL. Son of the late Mary (Varella) and George Cravenho.

Mr. Cravenho is a graduate of Oliver Ames HS in Easton MA, and went on to graduate from Stone Hill College, with a BA, Political Science.

He was the Owner of Factory Shoe Mart, in Dennisport and Mashpee, MA, a salesman for the  Campbell Soup Company, and was in charge of purchasing for the Plymouth Country Sheriff's Dept. 

He was very active in his community of Kingston. He was a  Selectman and served the town of Kingston for 6 years, and the Kingston Water Commission for 11 years. He was a member of the  Conservation Commission, Youth Commission, Central Plymouth Water District Committee and a dozen other Kingston Town Committees. 

Kingston named a building after him in recognition of his service as Water Commissioner; The George D. Cravenho Lime Treatment Facility

Fundraiser for the Democratic Town Committee

Mr. Cravenho enjoyed team trivia, golf, poker, and winters in Venice, Florida

Visiting Hours, Monday November 7th from 4-8pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home (216 Main St, Kingston). A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's (272 Main St, Kingston) followed by a Brunch at noon at Alden Park (160 Colony Pl, Plymouth).
