Obituary of Frances Catherine Frizzell

Please share a memory of Frances Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Following a long illness, Frances Catherine Frizzell passed away peacefully on May 31, 2022, at the home of her niece Cathleen F. Frizzell and wife Kathleen E. Creedon in Sandwich. She would have celebrated her 89th birthday this month.

Born in Charlestown, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (O’Connell) Cadillic, “Frannie” and her late husband, Robert Vernon Frizzell, had been South Boston residents for many years before moving to “rural” Pembroke in 1963. She thrived in the new environment, and, already a superior knitter, quicklyadded gardening, landscaping, and crafts to her talents. For several years, she and Bob displayed and sold their handiwork at holiday fairs in the area.

Frannie also experienced the “joys” of commuting to work in Boston. A testing laboratory technician for the Gillette Safety Razor Company, she retired after twenty-five years, with many co-workers as life-long friends. Many an adventurous vacation was enjoyed with friends and/or family, and trips with Bob to the Maine seacoast were always her favorite.

Her love of home always topped her priorities, however, and she didn’t consider it “work” to spend countless hours finely manicuring her lawn or composing eye-catching flower gardens. Many a passing motorist would stop to call out compliments as she worked. And neighbors knew her well, the “lady with the huskies,” who walked her beloved Siberian dogs faithfully (or was walked by them).

Frannie projected style and class in everything she did, everywhere she went. Whether hosting summer cook-outs or rollicking New Year’s Eve parties, or attendingothers’ events, she epitomized a remarkable poise and beauty, always approachable and humble, and always with kind words for everyone.

Frannie’s contagious laugh, that twinkle in her eye, her irrepressible loving spirit will always remain a treasure for devoted family and friends.

She is predeceased by husband Robert Vernon Frizzell of Pembroke, and sister Cathleen Louise (Cadillic) Frizzell of Plymouth. She is survived by brother Andrew Joseph Cadillic of Kingston, brother David Cadillic and wife Florence of Middleboro, brother-in-law Raymond Frizzell and wife Joanne of Plymouth, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at Shepherd Funeral Home will be Sunday, June 5, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Burial will be Monday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Pembroke Center Cemetery.
