Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judith Ann (Faiella) Leonard, 70, of Halifax, formerly of East Boston, passed peacefully at home with her family at her side after a long battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.  She is the daughter of the late Pasquale and Julia (Federico) Faiella. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard P Leonard, whom she shared 45 years with.  Judy is the loving mother to Andrea Cogan, Debra and her husband Robert Durgin and David and his wife Shauna Leonard, all of Halifax.  She is the cherished grandmother to Kylie and Madison Cogan, Aubree and Emily Durgin and the new addition to the family, Nathan Leonard.  Sister of Patricia Healey of East Boston and the late Ronald and Roger Faiella. She also leaves behind her son in law Brian Cogan of Woburn, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Judy was born in Lynn and raised there and in East Boston, before marrying Rick and moving to Halifax in 1977 to raise her family.

Judy was a caring and compassionate people person, who never forgot a name or face.  She cared deeply for her family and friends, and made sure everyone felt at home the minute they were in her presence, even if she just met you. Judy worked at the Lutheran Nursery School in Hanover for over 30 years, before retiring in 2018 to spend more time with her family.

Judy’s passing will leave a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her, for to know her was to know unconditional love, support and encouragement.   “In life we loved your dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill” author unknown

Services for Judy will be held on Wednesday, May 25th from 4 to 7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home located at 216 Main St, Kingston, Ma. on Thursday May 26th, a prayer service will be held at 10:30 with a funeral procession leaving the Funeral Home at 11:30 for the Massachusetts National Cemetery located in Bourne, Ma for a 12:30 Burial.
