Jon (Jonny) Walter Larason, 61, currently of Providence, RI, passed away on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 in Carver, MA. 

Jonny was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Sharon, MA with parents Jerome and Virginia Larason. He went to high school at Sharon High School and graduated in 1979. He lived for a number of years in Northampton, Massachusetts. Jonny was an outdoor enthusiast, traveler, and student of history and other cultures. He studied tracking and outdoor survival with Tom Brown. He through-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. He travelled to many parts of the world experiencing the cultures of France, Spain, and Morocco. He lived for several years in Taiwan. Eventually he settled in Plymouth, Massachusetts with his wife, Fang- Chih Lee and her two sons. There he worked as a Pilgrim reenactment actor for Plimoth Plantation for many years. From there he went on to manage the Coggeshall Farm Museum in Bristol, RIwith his partner Shelly Otis. He continued to travel and farm during the winter in South America in such places as Chile and Ecuador. Currently, Jonny was working as an actor with Marley Bridges Theater Company, an interactive theater group in Newport, Rhode Island. Jonnyalso enjoyed games and spent many hours over the years with family and friends playing Magic, Dungeons and Dragons, Gloomhaven, and Agricola. 

Jonny is survived by a large family. Jonny’s older brother,Robert Hancock and his wife Patricia Rutledge live in Savanah, Georgia. His brother, Mark Hancock and his wife Doreen live in Carver, Massachusetts. Another brother Jerry Larason and his wife Rebecca Larason live in Christchurch, New Zealand and his sister Christine Becker and her husband Carl Becker reside in Stoughton, Massachusetts. Jonny had many nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and nephews with whom he spent much of his time. He taught them how to love and respect nature and be a good person.
