Rose Ellen [Hanelt] Lothrop [85] of Pembroke, MA, died on March 29th, 2022 after a short illness. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Bradford E. Lothrop Sr. and devoted mother to her late son Bradford E. Lothrop Jr. She is survived by her children: Brenda Lothrop and her life partner Mike Faragon of Carver, Brian and his wife Donna Lothrop of Halifax, Beth and her husband Francis Ellis Sr. of Wareham; Beryl and her husband Shaun Harty of Dracut; Bart Lothrop of Halifax and his beloved girlfriend Amy Frye of Eastham; Bret and his wife Donna Lothrop of Halifax; and Belinda and her husband Ryan Baker Sr. of Middleboro; her beloved Grandchildren: Mikey Lothrop; Fran Jr, Peter, Benjamin, Brayden, and Brent Ellis; Shantelle, Sabrina, Spencer, and Skyler Harty; Ryan Crawford, Ashley Cotten and Joshua Lothrop; Emma and Maggie Lothrop; Jordan, Ryan Jr, Kaylee, and Trey Baker; and her great grandchildren: Camron, Joey, Adeline, Freya and Leon Ellis; she is also survived by numerous relatives as well as her dearest friend of many years Meriel Clark.

Rose Ellen was born and raised in Plymouth, MA by her parents George and Bertha Hanelt, and was a descendant of the Brewster family of Plymouth. She was the youngest of 12 children and raised 8 of her own children. In her early adulthood, she loved decorating wedding cakes for family and friends. She had a newspaper route later in life where she would bike around town delivering papers while showing off her grandchildren to the neighborhood. She had many hobbies, including playing card games like Uno, Scat, Kings Corner, Baseball, Rummy, and Crazy Eights. She loved doing crafts for every holiday, whether it be mobiles or pinecone wreaths. She loved to do word searches and watch Westerns. She would adorn her house with tapestries, stuffed animals, mementos and blankets of her favorite animal, the Peacock. She often chanced her luck with scratch tickets and collected the state quarters and Snoopy memorabilia. Rosie shared these numerous interests and hobbies with her entire family- she would often beat them in card games, collect and gift intricate sets of quarters, and curate thoughtful gifts for every holiday. All in all, she loved spending time with her family; during parties where she was always the center of attention, or at home spoiling her grandchildren.
