Obituary of Kathleen M. Van Riper

Kathleen M. (Roche) Van Riper, age 71 died in the comfort of her daughter’s home after a period of failing health. Kathleen was the loving wife of the late Robert Van Riper.

Kathleen grew up in Dorchester, Ma and was one of eight children. She is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Lucy Roche. As well as her sisters Patricia Bishop and Fran Jarnigan. 

Kathleen was a wonderful Mother to Eric Van Riper of Plymouth, MA, Sean Van Riper of Pembroke, MA, and Lindsay Van Riper of Weymouth, Ma. As well as a doting Nana to Ashleigh Vanschenkbrill. 

Those that knew Kathleen knew that she was a great cook and her au gratin potatoes could not be topped. She was an incredible seamstress as well as a Scrabble Pro. Kathleen loved her time with family, especially during the holidays. 

To know her, was to love her and Kathleen will be sorely missed by those who loved her. 

Memorial visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 24th from 5-8:00 pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 25th at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker, 1 Maquan St, Hanson.  Any monetary donations can be made to South Shore VNA and hospice.
