David Duncan Fitzgerald was born to Eugene and Dorothy Fitzgerald on December 9, 1943 in Boston Massachusetts. After pphigh school David continued his education by majoring in criminal justice at Northeastern University.

He married Cynthia Goodwin in Kingston in June of 1982 and had two children, Sean and Katelyn. He is also survived by his three sons David Jr., Eugene and John, his three daughters-in-law, Lori, Tina, and Whitney, his grandchildren Grace, Jack, and Chris, and several nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Fitzgerald Walker and his siblings Jean, Robert, and Eugene Jr. Fitzgerald.

In his youth, David and his family resided in East Cambridge and North Quincy and spent their summers in their cottage in the Rocky Nook area of Kingston.

Over the years, David was very politically active. After moving to Kingston, he served on many committees such as the Rocky Nook Brewster Park Association, the Board of Health, the Conservation Committee, the Sewage Advisory Committee, the Kingston Democratic Town Committee and the Kingston Lions Club. He was a Massachusetts Democratic State Committeeman and honored by the Plymouth County Democratic League.

Aside from his political career, David was also a small business owner of Kingston Cab/ Penguin Limousine. After retirement, he spent his time advocating for the deaf. You could always find him on the beach in the summer where he loved to spend time with his four-legged companions Lady, Livy and Sophie.

Calling hours for David will be held on Tuesday, January 11th from 4 to 8 pm. at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston . A funeral Mass will be held at St. Josephs Church in Kingston on Wednesday January 12th at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Kingston Lions Club would be appreciated.
