Obituary of Robert W. Coyne
Robert "Bob" William Coyne, 77 of Carver, passed away Saturday, November 27th, 2021, after a tough fight with COVID-19 and 30 year battle with heart disease. He was the loving husband of 45 years to Jacqueline (MacInnes) Coyne, Dad to seven children and furry pal, Grampy to nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons, brother to three, and Uncle to many. All were devastated by the loss and inability to spend his last days with him. We are grateful to the hospital staff for their support and care for Robert.
Bob was born September 9th in Boston, MA, to the late Joseph and Marceline (Gaspari) Coyne. He was raised in Roxbury, MA, where he developed a love for family and local sports that carried on through adulthood. He was a civil servant for the USDA for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Bob focused on spending time with his family and continued serving his community in many ways. He particularly enjoyed driving the school bus for high school sports teams and the elderly. In the later years, he worked at Lowes to pass on his skill craft working with tools.
Bob was a dedicated Dad who never missed a basketball game or early morning hockey practice. He was a lover of knowledge, an avid reader, and was always picked first at family game night! He was exceptional at anything he set his mind to, from carpentry, to studies and giving advice. Bob used his talents to perform major home renovations as a self-taught carpenter for the family. Building bathrooms, hanging kitchen cabinets, installing lighting fixtures, painting ceilings, no job was too big, and he certainly had the tools to complete it. He loved watching all sports, especially the Patriots. He enjoyed a good movie and could often be found watching a shoot-em-up western. He recently discovered a love for Thai Chi, was always up for a good meal and had a fantastic sense of humor. He told terrible yet hilarious "dad jokes" and was legendary at creating nicknames. Although Bob was a quiet and reserved man, he would spontaneously burst out a verse of "Any Ice Today, Lady?" without warning. He was always there, steady, reliable, humble, and will be greatly missed by many.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jackie Coyne of Carver, MA. His children: Danielle and Pete Blanchard of Plymouth, MA; Eran Coyne of Carver, MA; Kelli and Jeffrey Almeida of Middleboro, MA; Siobhan Coyne and Andrew Dodson of Taylorsville, UT; Chris Coyne of Plymouth, MA; Tom Coyne of Carver, MA; Shellee Coyne and Brandon Bergeron of Carver, MA; furry pal Ruby. Nine grandchildren Joseph, Ian, Breyden, Madelyn, Jack, Max, Aubrey, and Kenny and two great-grandsons Joey Jr., and Mason; his brothers Joseph and Susan Coyne of Quincy, MA, and James and Catherine Coyne of Melrose, MA, Sister-in-law Carol Coyne of Hanson, MA, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marceline (Gaspari) Coyne, his brother Frank Coyne and grandson Cooper Almeida.
