Barbara Hanson, 66, of Kingston, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston, on Tuesday October 12th after a 2-year battle with cancer. She will be remembered as a kind caring woman who made everyone around her better.

Born in 1954, To Walter and Eleanor Drahan in Britain Connecticut, Barbara is the sister to Catherine Gaudisnki, Mary Jane Mccue of Connecticut and the late Michelle Drahan of Colorado and God daughter to Helen Dendy.

Barbara is survived by her husband Keith, children Gregory and Eric, and in memory of David Hanson,as well as  many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Barbara graduated from Alliance College in Scranton, PA with a degree in chemistry before going to work as a laboratory Technologist at Sharon Hospital where she worked for7 years, then Brockton Hospital for 34 years.

Within the community of Kingston, Barbara volunteered with a number of organizations, including but not limited to the Boy Scouts, Saint Joseph's Church, the Kingston Cultural Council, Haiti 180, as well as the Silver Lake Football and Hockey organizations.

Visiting hours for Barbara will be held on Friday October 15th from 4 to 8pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main St. Kingston.  A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 16th at 10am at St. Joseph’s Church, Main St. Kingston,ollowed by a Burial at St. Josephs Cemetery Kingston, MA.
