Mary Lou Manning, formerly of Bryantville, MA, died on August 24, 2021 at home in Green Island, NY at the age of 77.

She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Manning and survived by her five children; James Manning of Abington, Theresa Olson of Green Island, NY, Scott (Christina) Manning of Pembroke, Diane (Ken) Lomax of Opdyke, IL, Kim (William) Emerrick of Plympton.

Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her second husband Jerry Cabral and is survived by her step sons, Jerry (Leora) Cabral of Kingston, and Russell Cabral of Davenport, FL.

Mary Lou is survived by her beloved brothers Frederick (Doris) Rivers of Ansonia, CT, Robert (Gloria) Rivers of Leominster, and Everrett Rivers of Cohoes, NY.

Cherished Grandmother to Shane, Jessica, Brittany, Gabriel, Bryanna, John, Laura, Briana, Danielle, Leah, Daniel, Matthew, and step grandchildren Cannon, Stacy, and Lane, as well as nine great grandchildren.

Mary Lou was preceded by her son Kenneth Manning, her grandson Joshua Manning Diamond and sister in law Marion Rivers of Cohoes, NY. She was an Aunt to multiple nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was born in Worcester on Jan. 13, 1944 to Frederick and Loretta Rivers. She loved kids and was a daycare provider and care for special needs children as well. Mary Lou was a foster parent to 250 kids and received an award for foster parent of the year.

Mary Lou loved to travel, go on cruises, play bingo, and dance.

She was a woman of faith and with a family of this size she will be missed and loved. “Love you to the moon and back Mama.” “Up and down and all around”.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 30th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 480 Mattakeesett St, in Bryantville, MA on Tuesday, August 31st at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Comfort Cases, which is backpacks for children in foster care, at 15825 Shady Grove Rd, #60, Rockville, MD 20850 or Cardinal Cushing Centers, 405 Washington St, Hanover, MA 02339.
